When undocumented immigrant Moses is deported from the promise land, he turns to his friend Jesús for a miracle to stop his deportation. Released on the three-year anniversary of Arizona's anti-immigrant SB 1070 legislation, 'Moses and Jesús' is a comedic call to action for humane immigration reform and full rights for the 11 million undocumented newcomers to the promised land. Watch our two prophets, hilarious, trash-talking Jesús and soulful Moses, come up with a plan. Passed in 2010, Arizona State Bill 1070 required police officers to check a person’s immigration status while enforcing other laws. At the time it was the strictest anti-immigration bill passed in the US. Its passage led to a wave of national protests and a boycott movement against its real and chilling effects.
