Housing Justice is Reproductive Justice

Andrea Rosales
2021

Reproductive justice means having the freedom to make a host of decisions about your life — your health, your body, your sexuality, your sense of self, your safety. People who are pregnant and don’t wish to be might have to choose between the cost of an abortion or paying rent for the month.

Reproductive justice also requires a safe and stable environment, one that supports people’s self-autonomy, their ability to take care of themselves, and their ability to access the fullest range of choices. How could we, then, have reproductive justice without ensuring housing for all?
