Although we are apart, we are connected through Mother Earth. This April 22nd is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and this year’s theme is Climate Action! Indigenous people and people of color have been on the front lines of protecting the Earth, each generation passing down knowledge and wisdom to the Earth protectors of the future. This Earth Day, we uplift stories of resistance and resilience to the climate crisis, expanding our hearts and minds to imagine what a healthy, thriving future for our planet can look like. We cannot solve the climate crisis without social, racial, and environmental justice, and we demand the government bail out the people, not the fossil fuel industry. As we celebrate 50 years of Earth Day on April 22nd, we radically imagine new possibilities for people and the planet. The Center for Cultural Power partners with Earth Day Network for Earth Day 2020, uplifting seven art commissions shared on @cultrestrike and @earthdaynetwork. All but one of the artists is a woman of color. Check out the collection on our Instagram page. Favianna Rodriguez also joins a stellar roster of activists, experts and artists as part of a three-day digital Earth Day Live activation.
