Liesel Bocalan-Lim

Associate Director of Operations
Liesel (she/her, they/them, siya) is a social action writer and spoken word poet, mainly focusing her narratives on decolonization and intersectionality through the lens of POC in the diaspora. As a queer Bay Area native and first-gen Filipinx American, she sees it as not only her duty, but an honor to be able to tell stories reflective of the communities who gave her refuge and continue to inspire her today. For over a decade she has utilized her writing, as well as her somewhat unhealthy obsessions with The Sims and time-management games to provide program and operational support for various nonprofits and mission driven organizations- from supporting queer houseless youth in the Central Coast to teaching university level writing courses to migrant parents back in the Bay. It is her hope that through her art and equally fierce organizational skills, she will be able to continually push the dial towards equity and justice.
