Joy Tang (she/her) is a mover, a lover of words and conversation, a native of Houston, TX. Her work to date has been part of shared efforts to build safe, authentic and expressive learning spaces for young people, educators and teaching artists. Joy comes from a K–12 education background, with certification to teach high school English. She holds a B.A. in English with a minor in Chinese Studies from Brigham Young University and completed a Folklore M.A. at the University of California at Berkeley. Joy offers weekly community yoga, having now done so in community spaces, gym environments and on Zoom. Prior to her role with The Center for Cultural Power, Joy served as Grants Director for Destiny Arts Center (Oakland, CA).
